Italian media reports Reyer Venezia are close to sign American player Austin Daye, in order to replace the injured Gedeminas Orelik.

In the last hours the good website Sportando reported that Austin Daye is finalizing a deal with Italian reigning champion Reyer Venezia. In the same minutes, the not so good website Basketnet.it wrote the affair was sure 100% and the player should play in Basketball Champions League next Wednesday.

As wikipedia remeber us, Austin Daye (born June 5, 1988) is an American professional basketball who last played for Hapoel Jerusalem of the Israeli Premier League.

By the way, this forward was reported to be linked by Virtus Bologna, but it was not a news, just rumors written by Bologna based newspaper Il Resto del Carlino two months ago.

So, the question is: will Austin Daye play for Reyer Venezia? I don’t have the answer, as, now, in the Reyer Venezia official website there is nothing about Austin Daye. Basketnet.it reports the deal is sure 100%. I hope Basketnet.it is right, but, my dear friends, my tip is that you should never trust Italian media 100%. Never.
