The European Basketball Monday Review

It’s Monday, May 1, the right moment for checking what’s going on in the old Europe.

EUROLEAGUE has already 3 of its 4 four semifinalist. CSKA Moscow, Real Madrid and Fenerbahce got their ticket for the Final Four, while the other team will be Olympiacos or Efes.

The other european cup are over. EUROCUP winners is Unicaja Malga, while Iberostar Tenerife became the first ever winners of the BASKETBALL CHAMPIONS LEAGUE with a 63-59 win over Banvit in the Final on Sunday evening. The fourth throphy, the FIBA EUROPE CUP saw Nanterre getting the title.

Season is over also for ABA LIGA with Crevna Zvezda celebrating another title. In VTB UNITED LEAGUE it’s playoff time with 8 teams running for the title.

What about the national leagues? In BUNDESLIGA today it’s gameday, the last one of the regular season, with the post season starting on Friday, May 5. Ulm, Bamberg, Bayern Munich & Bayreuth alredy secured the first 4 spot in the playoff table. In SERIE A EA7 Milano secured the first place in the regular seson, while there is an interesting battle for 7th and 8th place in order to get a playoff spot. Everything will be clear next weekend.

The LKL is the league we like to care every Friday, so you already know playoff are started. By the way, Zalgiris Kaunas won game 1 against Dzukija 80-73. In Spain we find Valencia and Real Madrid fighting for LIGA ACB 1st place. Just in order you know it, there are rumors about the wild card Euroleague has for 2017/2018, it could be for a spanish team.

The ISRAELI LEAGUE sees Haopel Eliat and Hapoel Holon sharing the top with a 19-10 record. In Turkey we are waiting to see what will happen on Wednesday in Darussafaka – Galatasaray, just on order to understand what a wonderful final we are set to live in this great TBSL, one of the most interesting league in the world.
